US patent application channels and required documents
The previous applications are inventions and utility models, and the application channels include the Paris Convention and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
1. Paris Convention Approach:
After applying in China, file a patent application with the United States Intellectual Property Office before the expiration of 12 months from the earlier patent application date (i.e. priority date). You can enjoy the treatment of priority, and you need to submit priority proof documents.
Documents and information required for application:
1) Application documents: including the specification, claims, drawings of the specification, abstract, drawings of the abstract;
2) Application information: Chinese and English name, address and zip code of the applicant and inventor, application country, contact person, etc;
3) Priority information

2. Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) approach:
PCT is the abbreviation of Patent Cooperation Treaty and an international treaty on patent application. According to the provisions of PCT, the applicant can submit an international application through PCT to designate almost all countries in the world to apply for a patent, that is, within 12 months from the application date (priority date) of the earlier application in China, the applicant can file a PCT international application with the State Intellectual Property Office of China, and within 30 months from the priority date, the applicant can file an entry application with the United States Intellectual Property Office.
Documents required for application:
1) PCT public documents;
2) International Search Report;
3) Modification documents at PCT stage (if any);
4) Power of Attorney.
The previous application was for design, and the application channels included the Paris Convention and the direct application to the United States.
